Pedro scores as Chelsea beat Inter Milan in a preseason friendly
Chelsea beat Inter Milan 5-4 on penalties in their International Champions Cup preseason tourney after playing 1-1 in the normal regulation period on Saturday evening at the Allianz Riviera.
Pedro Rodriguez put the Blues in front just eight minutes into the match after powering home a rebound from an Alvaro Morata's shot which was saved by Inter's goalkeeper.
The goal gave the Premier League side some advantage as they won a free kick at a vantage point in the 12th minute but Marcos Alonso failed to convert the chance that was handed to him.
Inter were presented with a chance to level up in the 16th minute but young Marcin Bulka is quick off his line to avert the danger from Politano's attack.
And the Stamford Bridge side quickly launched an attack from the averted danger but they failed to double their lead in the 17th minute.
Both sides continued to size themselves up as the game progresses but it was the Blues that held on to their lead as they headed for the dressing room after the first half of the game.
On return to the pitch to resume hostilities for the second stanza of the encounter, Roberto Gagliardini put the Serie A side back into the game as he fired a low shot to Caballero's right. The two teams made several changes to their team but none of the substitutes was able to hand their side the lead all through the second half of the game.
All efforts to they and find the winner from the the teams proved unfruitful as they head into penalties to decide who takes the day at the end of the final whistle.

Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the match through a penalty kick having being fouled by Phil Jones during the Blues counter-attacking move in the game.
