Vote for candidate personality not party popularity
Democracy instability happens when we vote for party instead of the personality the party presented to be voted for. This has being the most grievous mistake committed by electorates during polls.
It is not gainsaying that many candidates are like masquerade who hides behind thier partisp veil with no intention of doing good when voted in.
On many occasions, our votes has brought in the the wrong people who leads with tyranny and denied the good ones who are supposed to be the people's last hope.
Voters literacy is germane and pertinent for good and pure democracy to travail. Also, doing some background research on candidate any party declare as their flag bearer of any post help to sieve the grains from the stones and allows electorates to make a good choice of people who will well represent them.
During the last general election, I could vividly recollect that many electorate, mostly the aged and illliterate voters, thumb stamp only the political party at the top space of the ballot paper. Many of them don't even know the names of the candidate and and a full knowledge of the post they are vying for they only vote for the party that best appeal to them.
The rate at which we elect criminals through blind voting into government is alarming and this must drastically end for the government of the people, for the people and by the people to emerge.
If we want the real change, a new Nigeria, and a new government, let's not vote against it. Your vote is a decisive weapon which will be active when used wisely.
Let's make a shift from the stick carrot paradigm of election. Let the change we hope for begin with us by voting people that best qualifies for the post not unqualified candidate some parties presented to us.
Political party may fail and cover up their tracks with lies and propaganda but an individual can be held responsible if he fails
